Production Operator – Plastics Manufacturing
Our client has been manufacturing quality plastic products in Ashburton for over 40 years and is part of a well-established global manufacturing group. Their products are supplied throughout New Zealand and internationally, and due to continued growth, they are looking for reliable Production Operators to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in manufacturing. Full training will be provided, and there is the opportunity for a permanent position for the right person.
Available shifts:
Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday
Night Shift: 11:00pm – 7:15am, Monday to Friday
Twilight Shift: 3:00pm – 11:15pm, Monday to Friday
About the role
You’ll be part of a supportive production team, operating plastic extrusion machinery to manufacture PE and PVC pipe and other plastic products.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating and monitoring production machinery
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
- Using basic hand tools as required
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Following health and safety procedures
We’re seeking people who are:
- Reliable, punctual and have a strong work ethic
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
- Willing to learn and follow processes
- Comfortable using basic hand tools
- Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience is an advantage, but not essential
- A current OSH Forklift Licence would be beneficial but is not required
