Arable Farm Hand

We’re seeking a capable, hands-on farm operator to join our arable, seed potato and lamb operation in the Rakaia–Methven–Ashburton area. This is a varied role with real responsibility, ideal for someone who enjoys machinery, practical work and being part of a supportive team.

You’ll work closely with the Farm Manager and be involved in the seed potato programme from planting through to harvest, with variety across the year.

Key responsibilities:

Seed potato crop inspections, roguing and relief spraying
Preparing and maintaining potato equipment, boxes and storage
Assisting with harvest operations and overseeing crews when required
Paddock preparation and planter operation
General arable work and support of the lamb programme

About you:

Minimum 2 years’ arable farming experience
A qualification in Agriculture or a related field would be an advantage.
Confident machinery operator
Potato experience an advantage, not essential
Reliable, safety-focused and a good team player
Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence (essential)
Heavy Traffic licences an advantage
